eBay requires at least 500 × 500 pixels and recommends about 1600 × 1600. Each photo can be up to 12 MB, and listings can have up to 24 photos.
Shopify accepts images up to 5000 × 5000 pixels (25 megapixels) and under 20 MB, and recommends 2048 × 2048 for square product images.
Amazon’s main product image is widely reported to need a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255), with the product filling most of the frame and at least 1000 px on the longest side for zoom. Rules change, so confirm in Amazon Seller Central before listing.
It makes every photo exactly square (2000 × 2000 here) by adding white space around it instead of cropping your product.
