What is a HEIC file?
HEIC is the photo format iPhones have used by default since iOS 11 (2017). It keeps photos sharp at about half the file size of a JPG, which saves space on your phone.
Why convert HEIC to JPG?
Many places still can’t open HEIC: older Windows PCs, some Android phones, online forms, printing services and many websites. JPG works everywhere, so converting saves you the "unsupported file" error.
Why a private converter matters for iPhone photos
HEIC files are usually personal photos: family, kids, your home, documents. Many online converters upload them to a server to process them. This tool doesn’t. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, and hidden data like your GPS location is removed from the results.

Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs inside your web browser, on your own device. Your photos are never sent to a server, which is why it also works offline once the page has loaded.
Does converting HEIC to JPG lose quality?
Very little. With "Balanced" or "Best quality" selected, the difference is not visible in normal viewing. JPG files are usually somewhat larger than the original HEIC, because HEIC is the more efficient format.
Will my photos come out sideways?
No. iPhones often store photos sideways with a note saying how to rotate them. This tool applies that rotation, so tall photos stay tall.
Does it remove the location from my photos?
Yes. Converted files don’t include GPS location, camera details or other hidden data. If you only want to remove the location and keep the original format, use Remove photo location.
Can I convert HEIC on my iPhone?
Yes. Open this page in Safari, tap “Choose photos”, pick from your library, convert, then tap “Save to Photos”.
How do I stop my iPhone from saving HEIC photos?
Go to Settings → Camera → Formats and choose “Most Compatible”. New photos will be saved as JPG. Existing photos stay HEIC.
