Where 50 KB limits come from
A 50 KB cap is common on online application and exam forms, and it usually comes with a minimum too. Two examples, checked October 29, 2026:
- MSTC: photo about 200 × 230 pixels, JPG, 20 KB to 50 KB.
- Haryana TET: photo JPEG, 20 KB to 50 KB; signature 10 KB to 50 KB.
Your form’s own instructions always win, so check them before you upload.
Tips for a sharp 50 KB photo
- Crop to the head and shoulders first. Fewer pixels leave more of the 50 KB for your face.
- If the form gives a pixel size, set it under “Resize” before compressing, or useresize image.
- Use a plain, light background. Busy backgrounds take up bytes and look blotchy at 50 KB.
Need a different limit? Try 20 KB,100 KB or any size.
Frequently asked questions
How do I compress a photo to 50 KB?
Add the photo and press Compress. The tool lowers JPEG quality step by step until the file is under 50 KB, and shrinks the pixel size only if it has to.
The form says 20 KB to 50 KB. Will this work?
Yes. Files come out just under 50 KB, well above 20 KB, and the tool warns you if one ever drops below 20 KB.
What pixel size should a 50 KB photo be?
Use the size your form gives. Many ask for about 200 × 230 pixels. At that size a photo fits in 50 KB with plenty of detail.
Can I compress several photos to 50 KB at once?
Yes, up to 100. Each one is made smaller than 50 KB, and you can download them as a ZIP.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Your photos stay on your phone or computer and are never sent to us or anyone else, because the work happens right on your device.
